Dustin age 15 — “When I was young, I used to think of Karate John's as a place to keep in shape, burn energy, and make friends. Now I look at it as a place where I learned to respect others and myself, and I hope to obtain my black belt some day. Also I look forward to possibly one day in my life teaching and maybe even opening my own studio.” ‑Dustin L.
“Since joining Karate John's, our son has not only benefited physically by working out daily, but also emotionally and socially by having a a good attitude about his sensei, dojo, and fellow classmates. His senseis have instilled in him an attitude of respect, trust, and confidence. These aspects have carried over to other areas of his everyday life. He continues to always do his best when he is working with his sensei and expects the same from others. He loves what he is doing and it shows. We are very proud of him!” ‑Bill & Renee L. Zachary age 8 — “Zachary has started to come out of his shell and has reveled in the confidence he has gained since starting at Karate John’s. He is now first to volunteer to do something, instead of waiting for someone else to take the lead. He likes to help others and enjoys “teaching” with the Sensei in other classes. Zachary enjoys his time at the dojo and looks forward to every class. He is joining other events (i.e., Ju Jitsu Nationals, demo team) of his own volition. 18 months ago this wouldn’t have happened. Karate John’s has given Zach the tools he needs to succeed. Thank you!” ‑Stephanie P. |
Marissa age 7 — “My daughter, Marissa, has blossomed since starting Karate John's. Since being diagnosed with autism at the age of 4, she has shown a lot of regression and sadness towards herself and others. I have tried other activities but they did not have enough structure. I didn't think Marissa would benefit from karate but we tried it and she was amazing! The leaders work with her and made her feel special. She is always excited to go to class and I'm so proud of her. Karate John's has brought out the best in my daughter and if you didn't already know about her autism, you would never know it when she is ate karate. I love Karate John's and most of all Marissa loves it!” ‑Heather N. |
Noah age 11 — “Noah is currently an orange belt and has benefited extremely as a martial arts student at Karate John's since February 2010. His balance and coordination skills have improved so much and his karate kicks are higher. These skills have helped him become more conditioned as a football, basketball, lacrosee, and baseball athlete. Noah has also become more focused in learning how to assemble his electronic devices and sporting equipment himself. Most importantly, he has displayed more self-confidence in his school work, i.e. oral presentations and in his sports activities. We love being a part of the Karate John's family! Thanks for all your support!” ‑Dee W.

Tanner age 10 — “Tanner originally joined Karate John’s because it looked “fun”. Well, he was right! The cost is worth all the rewards!” ‑Wendy B |

Christopher age 7 — “I feel Karate John’s has been very good for Christopher. He can be a couch potato at times. He never gives us a hard time about going to karate. He is so focused and determined with his karate. He seems to love the challenge and wants to do well. He loves and trusts all the people at Karate John’s. He tends to be shy but not here. So much the opposite when it comes to his karate. It has given him great confidence in everything he does.” ‑Pam K. |
Ian age 7 — “Ian’s confidence and self-esteem have accelerated since joining Karate John’s. He believes in himself and pushes himself beyond his limits. I’m amazed at how in just one year he has grown in many aspects…especially with his balance. He is very proud and is constantly showing off his new moves to friends and family.”
“Alessia has been in karate now for one year. She absolutely loves it! She has gained a great deal of confidence in the past year. It has definitely made her more focused and respectful at home. Andrew age 6 — “Andrew loves karate. He has been involved in football, basketball, and baseball, but appears to be more interested in karate. He is always looking forward to going to karate. Prior to his first tournament he was afraid of standing up in front of people. Now he can’t wait for the next one.” ‑Christine K. |
Nicholas age 4 — “Nicholas was a very shy boy before karate. Karate John’s has taught him to be more confident, sure of himself, and most importantly, taught him he can do whatever he sets his mind to. At home all we have to ask Nick is, ‘what would Sensei say?,’ and he always makes the right choice or does what he is being asked. Karate has also taught him how to handle the kids who tease or pick on him. He understands how to address the situation the way Sensei told him to.” ‑Amy D. |
